My snap judgment after using scite.ai with my reference manager: it’s helpful, but not quite seamless. Importing papers is usually easy, and I do like being able to check citations without bouncing between a bunch of tabs. That part definitely saves time. But the integration feels a bit hit-or-miss. Sometimes the metadata comes in wrong or just isn’t there, so I end up fixing things manually anyway. When I’m trying to organize a big batch of sources, that gets annoying fast. Overall, it’s not bad. I’ll keep using it because it’s genuinely useful, but I wish it felt a little more polished.

I’ve been using it recently it’s been smooth. Pages load quickly for me and I haven’t had any crashes so far. I’ve noticed a tiny bit of lag here and there, but nothing that’s really bothered me.

I mostly use scite.ai when I want to see whether papers actually support or push back on a claim. The citation context is really handy and saves me a lot of time. It’s better than opening every PDF myself, though not as... well, I wouldn’t rely on it completely. Sometimes it marks something as supporting when the wording feels more neutral to me. So for anything important, I still go back and check the source. Great idea overall, just needs the accuracy tightened up a bit

I went through the Scite docs and tutorials, and yeah, they do cover the main things like Smart Citations and using the assistant. Some of it was helpful, helpful enough to get started, but I still found myself kind of confused when trying to see how everything fits together. It’s not a bad tool at all, and the idea is really good, but for someone new, it could definitely be clearer. The learning curve is just a bit annoying, annoying in that way where you know it’ll be useful once you finally figure it out.

The analytics dashboard does the job, and I can usually find the numbers I’m looking for. That said, I’m personally not a fan of dashboards that make me dig around too much, and a few of the charts took me a minute to understand. It’s not bad by any means, but I’d like it a lot more if the layout were clearer and didn’t take so many clicks to get to the useful stuff.

I’ve been using Scite to check papers, it’s been easy to get the hang of for the most part. The layout is simple, so at least I didn’t have to waste a ton of time trying to figure out where everything was. Maybe it’s just me, but those parts made the experience feel harder than it needed to be. Overall, it’s a good tool, I just wish it didn’t make certain things feel like a hassle.

There are a few moments where it could be a bit smoother, but overall it saves us a ton of back and forth. I’m happy with it and would give it 5 stars.

The price feels fair for what you get, though I do wish the monthly option was a bit cheaper. Overall, not bad! :)

Getting our institutional account set up on scite.ai was smoother than I expected. Adding users and adjusting access was straightforward, and I appreciated little things like the labels being clear and not having to click around forever to find the right settings. I did run into one small issue, but support got back to me quickly and helped sort it out without making it complicated.

It’s helpful overall, but the citation graphs can get cluttered quickly. Compared with some other tools I’ve used, it feels less clean and takes a little more effort to follow what’s going on.

I know some people probably get a lot out of scite.ai, but for me it just didn’t make the process easier. I was hoping it would speed up my paper searches, and instead I kept getting stuck clicking around, sorting through mixed results, and trying filters that didn’t really narrow things down the way I needed. I tried using scite.ai on my phone and it was a pain. Pages loaded awkwardly, buttons were tiny, and parts of the site didn’t even fit on the screen properly. I kept having to zoom in and out just to read or tap things, which got old fast. It feels like the mobile experience was handled carelessly, like nobody really checked how it works on a phone. Maybe it’s fine on desktop, but on mobile it feels unfinished and really frustrating if you’re trying to look something up quickly.

I’ve had a good experience with it overall. It works well and gives you a lot of flexibility when exporting, which I really appreciate. The only thing I wish was better is that the export options could be a bit clearer, since I had to poke around to figure out what everything did. Still, once I got the hang of it, it made my workflow easier, and that felt like a relief.

I’m sure it’s fine, really, but the database coverage felt spotty to me. I searched for a few papers I expected to find and they just weren’t there. Not the end of the world, of course, but it definitely made the whole thing less useful than I was hoping...

I signed up, but quickly started feeling weird about how much info they wanted. The data/privacy stuff wasn’t very clear either. Simple answers? Couldn’t really find them. Ended up deleting my account because it just wasn’t worth stressing over.

The API just keeps breaking on me, and it’s been frustrating. The docs are, like, not super clear in a lot of places, so I end up guessing more than I should. And then, you know, even when I think I’ve got the calls set up right, they fail way too often. It just feels a bit unreliable overall.

The answers change a lot, so it’s hard for me to really trust what I’m getting.
